Human First: Introducing NE Sprouts

We have all heard the concerns about handing over our phone or tablet to our children. The research is loud about it. Screens can pull infants and toddlers away from the face-to-face interaction their brains are built to grow through. Fast paced, algorithm driven content can spike stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, and the blue light disrupts the melatonin our children need for real rest. Content moderation is inconsistent at best, and too many young children are landing on videos that are violent, overstimulating, or simply not meant for their eyes.

We know this. Most parents know this.

And still, most of us are managing a full life.

Overwhelm. Fatigue. A body that has given everything it has by 4pm and a child who still needs something. Once that tablet gets handed over, there is often no turning back. Not because we don’t care. Because we are human, and being human in this era is a lot.

In a perfect world, I would hope for a world where no parent was that exhausted. Where the tablet never had to become the answer. But this is not that world.

This is a new world. Our children are already tech savvy before they can tie their shoes. Screens are not going anywhere, and pretending otherwise does not serve families.

So instead of adding to the noise of what to fear, Nativ Elementz decided to build something different. We wanted to give families an option. If the screen is going to be part of the story anyway, let it be a screen that is working with you, not against you.

Why We Built This

Our commitment with NE Sprouts is early psychoeducation. Planting the right seeds before the world has a chance to plant the wrong ones.

As a therapist, so much of what shows up in my office as an adult, the negative self beliefs, the low self-esteem, the imposter syndrome, traces back to childhood wounds. Some of that comes from inside the home. ACEs research has taught us how much hurt is quietly seeded there, long before a child has language for it. And some of it comes from outside the home. Bullying. Social constructs that were never healthy to begin with, like misogyny and patriarchy, that tell boys their sensitivity is weakness and tell girls their voice is too much. Messages that teach children, long before they can name it, to doubt themselves.

We cannot fix everything a child will encounter. No one can. But we can offer one corner of their world where families do not have to wonder what their child is absorbing. A space built on purpose, for peace, for positive behavior, for the kind of social and emotional development that gives a child something solid to stand on.

We look forward to planting seeds of creativity and curiosity. We look forward to walking alongside parents as they raise their children with nurture at the center.

Our First Three Videos

Today, we are honored to share the first three episodes of NE Sprouts.

The first invites a child into knowing themselves and trusting that who they already are is enough.

The second teaches a young viewer that showing up as their full authentic self is not something to shrink from. It is one of the most extraordinary things they can do.

And the last one is close to my heart. In my work with men, I hear again and again how heavy the stereotype of the “real man” has become, a burden many of them are still carrying, still unpacking, decades later. So for our young boys, this one is a reminder, early and often: you are human first.
